Today on September 2 is the day: 1,000 days are left before drupa 2008 opens its doors. This is the starting signal for the global activities of Messe Düsseldorf as the organiser of drupa: the presentation at Print 05 with its debut edition of the drupa innovation parc on tour, the brandnew drupa report No. 1 with its personalised cover and the new and fine-tuned drupa portal.

Up until the start of the event on 29 May 2008, the offerings will be progressively expanded so that both visitors and exhibitors can benefit from a single, instantly accessible source for all their drupa needs. The Internet plays an increasingly important role within the marketing mix. During the drupa 2004 run alone, more than 500,000 users surfed through the print media fair’s portal – even a year later as many as 105,000 visits were recorded.
The next major step in the global marketing campaign is mailing the exhibitor invitations, which go out from May 2006. Registrations close on 31 October 2006 and, by the end of August 2007, exhibitors will have received confirmation of registration and stand locations. Canvassing of overseas visitors starts in the summer of 2007, while their European counterparts will be approached as of January 2008. Six weeks before the fair kicks off, in other words, in mid-March 2008, the catalogue goes on sale.
