„your link to print“ is the motto of the communication campaign for drupa 2012. Augmented Reality (AR) is a key aspect here. This is the clever crosslinking of print, Internet and mobile applications. Through the multimedia transport of contents, there is not only a more conscious awareness of them, but the drupa campaign itself becomes a trend-setting “event”. Finally, AR opens up completely new possibilities in regard to the enrichment and the experience of printed information.
Almost all of the print media of the current drupa campaign contains AR elements which lead to additional web contents. The basis for this is to view the elements provided with a special „marker“ through a webcam or a Smartphone camera. The recognised AR contents in the captured image are then transformed into virtual contents via a particular app ‒ this can be, for example, a website, an audiofile or a videostream. Simply look for the AR+ logo and a surprise awaits you.
