Sustainable Media Production
The Media Mundo initiative is responsible for ensuring the harmonious and professional integration of sustainability into the drupa trade fair concept.
Here, innovations, suggestions and sustainability concepts are birthed from a wide range of areas in close connection with sustainable media production. In addition to associations such as the WWF, FSC, EWPA, AGD, INGEDE and the BVDM, other providers from sectors including paper, energy, media production, process and workflow management, as well as packaging, promoted themselves at the drupa trade fair.
In particular, touchscreens enable topic areas to be researched individually and in great detail. Furthermore, it is evident that not only does sustainable media production go far beyond the topic of printing but that, in the medium term, it may only be addressed by considering intelligent, cross-media strategies, within which the print sector must redefine its role.
During the trade fair, a total of six focal topics were tackled on two days each as part of three to five organized events. The presentations last no longer than 20 minutes and the audience also had plenty of time to ask any questions they may have. Moreover, all talks were recorded.
