BETA COAXIAL SCOPE

Coaxial illumination renders common objects in a completely different way. Surface texture and differences in gloss are strongly emphasized while the usual properties of color and darkness are barely visible. This unique property makes the Coaxial Microscope the best instrument for examining anilox roll cell structure, surface finish on metal rollers, varnish on printed work, and many other print related materials.

The objective lens of the microscope serves two functions in this device. It forms the highly magnified image that is further enlarged by the eyepiece and also serves to focus the illumination source onto the object. The light is directed and focused in a pattern that is precisely perpendicular to the sample surface. What you see through the eyepiece is the difference in the directly reflected light due to differences in gloss or angle of the sample.

This is very different than all other magnifiers and microscopes that place the light source off to the side and to go to great lengths to avoid direct reflections. None of them render the engraved structure of anilox cells as clearly as the Beta Coaxial Microscope. It is available in three magnifications to suit your needs.

The Beta Digital Electronic Ruler allows precise, non-contact measurements of large and small distances. Small details such as barcode lines can be measured within the eyepiece of the 50x microscope, while the cross hair in the microscope is used to locate larger details when moving the readout along the beam.

The hardened stainless steel beam eliminates the shortcomings of fragile glass scales. The compund microscope and reticle place the crosshairs in precisely the same plane as the object, eliminating the parallax errors common to all low-power magnifiers.

Please specify an INCH or METRIC reticle for the eyepiece of the microscope. The electronic scale display allows you to switch between INCH and METRIC units.

BETA VIDEO RULER

The Beta Video Ruler allows precise, non-contact measurements of large and small distances on Films, Plates, Dies, and Prints. Small features are measured directly on the monitor by dragging the cursor across them. Large distances are measured by marking the starting point with the auto-snap cursor on screen. The camera and scale encoder are then moved to the opposite end of object. The cursor is then moved to within auto-snap distance and the total length is calculated and displayed on screen.

The unique Video Color Separation system adds an extremely useful function when measurements are needed of process or spot color images, particularly when pastel colors or low-contrast images are involved. The process yellow image is nearly impossible to see against white paper even under magnification. Utilizing the adjustable separation system the color of interest is separated from the background and other interfering colors. It is converted to grayscale and displayed in real-time on the monitor while using the measuring functions. Offset, flexo, and screenprint registration marks are now easy to see and measure. Inkjet defects such as scatter, comets, and clumping are now easily imaged and measured.
