The new Beta Color Viewer Model III brings revolutionary new functionality

The most obvious new feature is the push-button color selection. The
traditional red, green, and blue channels are available at the touch of a
button. The fourth button activates the new ultraviolet channel. Light
emitting diodes provide unlimited lifetime and many weeks of runtime from
the rechargeable battery pack. No time is lost flipping between the white
and color channel, it's right on the same button.
The new LED illumination system allows examination of process and spot
colors, and the new UV channel detects fluorescence in substrates and
coatings.
The quick-change interchangeable lens mount and pushbutton color channel
selection make it easier to use than ever. The flat-field 10x and 20x
lenses provide the most familiar view for general inspection, and
microscopes up to 125x make the most critical adjustments and analysis
easier than ever.
Diagnose the toughest mechanical, chemical, and optical problems faster
when you can see every color clearly, including the nearly invisible
yellow, and the completely invisible fluorescent coatings and

Beta Industries - The Quality Control Company, introduces MICRO DOTTIE 2, a USB, CMYK/Spot color contrasting video microscope with digital micrometer for critical viewing, analysis and PC image capture. Fine print and other details are viewed, analyzed and stored to the PC in this compact, hand held video viewer that portably operates on your desk, in your lab, on a press cylinder, or anywhere else you need to bring it.
At 40x magnification, an excellent overall view of register marks, coating and printing defects, or small mechanical or electrical components is seen. At 140x magnification the finest halftone dot details are clearly visible across the 0.yyy inch (mm) field of view while trapping deficiency, ink defects, and coating artifacts are easily identified for correction.
Low-contrast yellow ink images are electronically contrasted to make register, halftone dots, and any other details stand out as a high contrast black image. The same function is used for cyan and magenta.
Applications: Graphic Arts, for Forensic Document Examination the optional infrared light source can be used to detect document alterations. Machinists can examine cutting tools and precision parts, collectors and appraisers will see more with enhanced view ability.

High Precision at Low Cost
It’s easy to measure one thousandth of an inch or one thousand millimeters, but very difficult to do both. The problem of high precision measurements over large distances is solved with the Beta Precision Electronic Ruler. Measurements with an accuracy of .001 inch and a range of up to 80 inches are now possible with a portable, low-cost instrument. Non-contact measurements eliminate the risk of damaging films or dies or distortion of extensible substrates, and inch and metric units are selectable with the push of a button.
When the object fits in the field of view of a measuring microscope, line it up with the reticle and read the length directly. Measuring features and repeat lengths on films, plates, and dies is usually relegated to a steel rule and the operator’s ability to estimate between the lines. When higher precision is needed, floor-mounted optical comparators can be used, but they’re not portable and very expensive.
The Beta Precision Ruler combines the advantages of the measuring microscope and the digital readout of the comparator. Sight the crosshair on the microscope on the start of the feature and zero the electronic readout. Rapidly slide the cursor close to the endpoint, creep to the final position with the thumbwheel, and readout the final dimension on the five and a half digit display.

As HD Flexo requires the most advanced analysis software and hardware to effectively analyze extremely small highlight dots that are normally beyond the capabilities of existing flexo analyzers, Betaflex Pro’s revolutionary 3D Dot Structure Imaging delivers analysis and visual confirmation of these small halftone dots. Operators are no longer left guessing or making subjective judgments.
2D imaging of the full tonal range yields precise and repeatable measurements from 50 to 200 line conventional screens and FM screens as well. User definable values are set for Dot Structure diameter and shoulder profile from the OK dot image. Production samples are imaged with a topographical visualization and comparison function in addition to the numerical readout. The system generates pass, warning, or fail indicators to guide the operator in accepting or rejecting plates. Four new devices are now available for today’s Flexographic analysis, calibration, and production and budget needs. Addressing different industry segments and market economics, the new Betaflex Pro™, Betaflex Xpress ™, Betaflex Control Universal ™ and Betaflex Control ™ devices image, analyze, and verify plates of the highest quality with systems that are portable, repeatable, and ISO-compliant.

Betaflex Pro system enables analysis of the smallest highlight dots and advanced surface treatments that are normally beyond the capabilities of existing flexo analyzers.
The revolutionary 3D Dot Structure Imaging, operating at 22,000 pixels per inch, delivers numerical analysis and visual confirmation of the smallest halftone dots. Operators are no longer left guessing or making subjective judgments. 2D imaging of the full tonal range occurs at 14,000 pixels per inch, yielding precise and repeatable measurements from 50 to 200 line conventional screens and FM screens as well. User definable values are set for Dot Structure diameter and shoulder profile from the OK dot image using a familiar Bull’s Eye function. Production samples are imaged with a topographical visualization and comparison function in addition to the numerical readout. The system generates pass, warning, or fail indicators to guide the operator in accepting or rejecting a plate.
Betaflex Xpress is the transmission-only version for film, mask, and plate measurement. The unique Mask Stain Density function makes it the perfect device for routine plate production where 3D imaging is not required. It is fully compatible with Windows XP, Windows 7, or Vista operating systems to measure conventional, FM (Stochastic) or Hybrid screening.
Betaflex Control Universal Fully portable and handheld, the separate sensor and light-table arrangement allows the largest plates to be easily measured. Measure film, plate and print. A USB2.0 link to a Windows XP, Windows 7, or Vista PC runs the intuitive graphical application software to image, capture, analyze, and plot the plate data. The supplied ISO-compliant calibration system assures accuracy and consistency when measuring conventional, FM (Stochastic) or Hybrid screening.
