Colors, expressive and shining as only nature can create them - this is GMUND COLORS, the first real color system for finest paper.

With the Gmund Color System, Büttenpapierfabrik Gmund has created an extraordinary paper collection really unique in its extent and versatility: 52 beautiful shiny colors with a matte paper surface in six weights from 100g to 400g/m², 10 transparent colours (Gmund Colors Contact) and 9 matching shimmering shades (Gmund Colors Subtil).

SUBTIL consists of a selection of basic colours, finished with a delicate micro embossing and a very thin layer of silver glimmer, the surface is shining quite subtly - as the name indicates.

CONTACT is a colored transparent paper that perfectly matches an opaque paper and it is striking in its extraordinary transparency and brightness.

Each color has been created in Gmund. With great solicitude, lighter and darker colors have been harmonized, and even the different color-families were adjusted to make them combinable among each other. Matching each color there are envelopes in DL and C5 available, for the CONTACT papers also in quadro.

Apart from the extensive color and weight range, GMUND COLORS shows excellent quality and printability rendering the GMUND COLOR SYSTEM the perfect, multi functional all-round paper.

Very careful fiber beating and an almost slow-motion production made GMUND COLORS a paper with an extraordinary paper strength, high volume and fine grip. At the same time, it is acid free, pH- neutral, extremely age resistant and as all Gmund collections also FSC certified.

These unique characters make the GMUND COLOR SYSTEM the first paper collection for practically any kind of applications: from letterhead and lining papers, to bookend or text papers, from greeting and business cards to menus. It can be used for brochures and book covers just as well as for archival board or water color paper.

Gmund 925 – Appearance and Reality

The Paper with the Power and Radiant Elegance of Silver

Appearances can be deceiving, but not here! The “Gmund 925” paper creation is produced with admixture of pure silver ions, which endow this paper with the power and elegance of the precious metal. Appreciated for its lasting value, silver has been used by mankind for jewelry, coins, drinking vessels and many other purposes since the fifth millennium BC. The Ancient Romans were familiar with silver’s antiseptic effect: nowadays this hygienic aspect has become an integral feature in medical technology and high-tech textiles. Gmund 925 presents this effect for the first time in the paper industry. Silver’s shiny look and useful properties guarantee a well-balanced relationship between appearance and reality in Gmund 925.

This paper is ideally well suited for making a polished presentation. Its brushed surface emphasizes gleaming elegance and a technically skillful character. Manufacturers of jewelry and fashions, as well as makers of automobiles and electronic devices, will appreciate Gmund 925 as a paper that adds distinction to brochures, packaging or cards. Silver is highly reflective: widely dispersed metallic particles give this paper many different faces, which change depending upon the incident light. This playfully changing appearance enchantingly contrasts with the clarity and uncompromising aura radiated by Gmund 925.

The palette of papers offers silver in diversely colored facets: from White Silver with a bit of shininess, through Light Silver, Silver Pigments and Golden Silver, to Aqua Silver – a rare turquoise tone that simultaneously conveys the coldness of steel and the softness of silk. All colors are available in papers weighing 290 or 310 g/m². Light Silver uniquely distinguishes itself with a weight of 145 g/m² and a two-sided silvery gleam.

Aqua Silver, Silver Pigments and Black Silver are the names which the Gmund laid-paper factory has given to its unprecedented development of a two-sided metallic paper characterized by equally high quality on both its sides. Despite its complex properties, Gmund 925 is suitable for all commonly used printing techniques.

GMUND ACT GREEN – Paper in its purest form

The GMUND collection with a guarantee of content and an environmental certificate

ACT GREEN – that applies to all papers from GMUND, because they are made to high environmental standards, as documented in the GMUND Environmental Charta.

The new paper collection ACT GREEN is a paper purist´s delight. It is available in four recipes:

100% Recycling

is made from FSC-certified recovered paper – with no added fresh fibres. It is a demonstration of just how attractive recycled paper can be – with high whiteness and a delicate, matt surface with a hand-made look. For ecological purists, it can also be ordered with an ECO watermark.

Cotton is made from 100% cotton. Cannabis contains 30 % hemp fibres. Both raw materials come from annual plants and have an excellent eco-performance, combined with a unique feel and good fibre strength. Both papers are made on the ‘old’ paper machine, dating from 1883. That gives them their typical, genuine wool-felt marking.

FSC-certified pulp

The colours of Cream, Brown and the noble dark Green are made from FSC-certified pulp, obtained from guaranteed sustainable operations that respect people and the environment.

GMUND is committed to an environmental approach, as set out in its Environmental Charta, compiled and published in the form of a brochure.

For us environmental standards mean:

- GMUND was the first ‘coloured paper mill’ to switch all its GMUND collections over to FSC.

- The water used in production is cleaned exclusively with the help of ozone (O3) and then reused several times. No strong chemicals are used.

- Thanks to a programme of minimising waste, the amount of waste has been reduced by 82% during the last ten years.

- Currently over 70% of the electricity used is generated from the company´s own water power, a solar energy plant on the roof and from heat recovery from the production process.

The Collection

ORIGINAL GMUND consists of five fine communication papers with a cotton content from 10 up to 100 % - from budget friendly to high end.

The five surfaces Tactile, Vergé, Vellum, Pure and Filigran Bütten can not only be combined within the range, but also with the extra smooth papers of the collection BLANC BEIGE.

ORIGINAL GMUND is available in the colours blanc, creme and beige in the grammages 90, 100, 110, 120, 170, 250 and 300 g/m².

All papers are available with and without the newly developed watermark, whose lettering appears simple and timeless modern.

The Qualities

Tactile captivates with its successful matt and handy surface which is typical for Gmund.

Vergé shows character by its new interpretation of the classic Vergé surface. Both visual and with its technical functionality, Gmund offers the most modern Vergé paper on the market. It convinces by its enhanced printability and flexibility in folding.

Vellum comes also in matt. The watermark is evidence of the cotton content of 50 %.

The luxurious and at the same time plain quality Pure consists of 100 % precious cotton. Therefore it stands out with its exceptional feel and softness.

The top quality Filigran Bütten comes in beige. It is the masterpiece in the art of paper making. With its artisan watermark and distinctive deckle edge it is the right choice for special occasions.
