The CHECK-MASTER II is an advanced measuring instrument for automatic measurement of all types of cells. Its main application is in situations where the highest accuracy and the ease of use are of great importance. Many additional accessories allow it to be used for final checking and goods inwards checking of rotogravure cylinders.

Unlike Dot-Check, the measurements are taken automatically. False measurements due to incorrect operation are hereby excluded.

The basis of this new measuring system is the world-wide known Check-Master microscope, which has been substantially modified and equipped with a CCD camera having a high-performance image processor running under Windows 98 and a high-resolution monitor.

The user surface can be individually modified to ensure optimum ease of use for every application. Due to help facilities operating of the CHECKMASTER II has still become more easy and comfortable in addition to the already existing possibilities offered by Dot Check and Check Master. The illumination of the microscope is adjusted fully automatically and operation is as usual, extremely simple. Only a PC mouse and keyboard are used to operate the instrument.
The use of a PC with Intel processor allows many other features to be provided such as storage of images and readings, connection of a laserjet- or thermo printer, links to other programs and networking with other PC’s.

CHECK MASTER II offers:
• Correct and quick automatic measurement of the longitudinal and transverse diagonals and channel in one operation.
• Precise automatic determination of the screen including longitudinal and lateral repeat (feed) and angle output.
• In addition, the cells can be measured manually by using the mouse.
• Exact output of the surface of a cell in µm2.
• Accurate optical depth measurement (motordriven: automatic or manual) with IFC and trend bar.
• Determination of the volume for electromechanical engraving in ml/m2.
• Adjustment of the measuring position by 15 mm in longitudinal and transverse directions.
• Several optical magnification/measuring ranges so that both coarse and fine screen sizes can be accurately measured.
• Selection of individual or multiple measurements.
• Possibility of digital switching to 2 x and 4 x image magnification, all measurement functions remaining active.
• Considerable simplification of the series measurement of up to 24 ribbons each with up to 10 tones in one operation.
• Automatic change of measuring range with on-screen display of selected objective.
• Measurement can be made in live mode or from stored images.
• Measurement results and images can be stored on the hard disk or floppy-disk.
• Interfaces for data communication and various types of printers.
• Program for calculation of anilox rollers after entry of the known data.
• Entry of cylinder characteristic data.

A Dot-Check is a measuring instrument for the manual measurement of cells of all kind. The main application field is the control of engraved, etched and lasered gravure cylinders as well as field rollers.

The world-wide known Dot-Check, which works to the entire satisfaction of its users can be delivered in the two following different versions:

Version 1 (Type WH 343):- measurement of vertical and horizontal diagonals (incl. objective 20x)
Version 2 (Type WH 344):- measurement of vertical and horizontal diagonals and depth (incl. objective 20x and 40x)

In the printing industry the examination of the surface quality of rotogravure cylinders or anilox rollers is decisive for the consisting quality of the printing products. Inspection by means of the 3D-Volume measuring system µ-surf-mobile allows fast and precise surface structure characterization on the shop floor.

This newly developed mobile measuring system was specially designed for the surface inspection of large component parts, such as rotogravure cylinders. Due to its compact design with bend optics it is largely resistant to vibrations and achieves a high precision. The motorized x, y-table operates over a positioning of 50 x 50 mm. By means of the computer-based distance tracking, it is possible to use combined measurements series (stitching) along the curved surfaces (e.g. along the circumference of the roll). In addition to roughness evaluation, modern surface analyses can be carried out to determine the 3D properties (e.g. the volume). In the printing industry, for example the mobile measuring system is used for quality control of chrome rollers and for volume measuring of cells on laser structured (metal or ceramic), engraved and etched rotogravure cylinders. The following measuring values can be determined: length, width, depth, area, screen and volume. The mobile measuring head allows the direct 3D-measuring on large component parts (e.g. rotogravure cylinders) and works according to the confocal measuring method.

A measurement device for all applications
Using measurement technology for quality assurance in print is a universally accepted practise this days. SpectroDens is your all-purpose, modern measurement device. Whether it be in pre-print for verifying proofs, for ongoing quality control at the printing press, during delivery inspection of paper and print products or in a color lab, SpectroDens is exceptionally suitable, whatever your application. Thanks to the individually adjustable display functions, you can quickly set up the device for your particular job.

Two devices in one
The product name alone suggests the multiple uses of the device. As a spectro-densitometer, SpectroDens combines the qualities of a highly accurate spectro-photometer and an easy-to-use densitometer. Measurement is spectral, i.e. the entire color information – the spectral fingerprint of the color – is precisely registered. The measured spectral data is converted into measurement data for descriptive analysis and display:

Densitometric data is widely used in quality control during the printing process.
Colorimetric data is used in the evaluation of print proofs, the creation of color profiles in color management and the color matching and formulation of inks.

Densitometry
A push of a button provides you with solid density as well as all useful additional information such as dot gain, dot area, gray balance and print contrast. In the automatic measurement mode the device always displays the relevant information instantly. You can even quickly and easily produce complete characteristic printing curves. The spectral measurement technology calculates not only the density values for CMYK, but also exact data for the density of spot colors.

Colorimetry
All standard colorimetric functions are displayed clearly. Even the entire L*a*b*-color circle appears in the display. Reference colors and complete digital color books can be saved in the color library.

Hardness Tester

Hardness Tester for determination of copper respectively chrome hardness of rotogravure cylinders -simple – fast – accurate.

Hardness tests in Vickers range of light weight have the advantage that they are supposed to be non-destructive as the lasting surface indentation is microscopically small.

Measuring is effected by Vickers penetration procedure by electro acoustic evaluation of the indentation (UCI process).

The measuring values are shown in Vickers hardness HV on the display (4 digits). The single measurement value or the current average value of a measurement series can be indicated optionally.

The Hardness Tester is available in two versions:
- Hardness Tester Cu H1 (only for copper measurement)
- Hardness Tester Cu/Cr H2 (for measurement of copper and chrome)
