Fingerlift tapes are double sided tapes with a wider liner than the adhesive width. This permits the the easy removal of the liner from the tape and quicker application during production.

Stokvis Tapes can produce most double sided tapes with a fingerlift release liner. Fingerlift tapes are available with different adhesive systems such as:

Transfer tapes consist of a thin layer of adhesive, separated by a siliconised paper or film. The best bond will be achieved on flat surfaces such as; metal, plastic, paper and some closed cell foams.

Some transfer tapes are reinforced by glass fibres or scrims to increase the internal strength and to increase the adhesive thickness. Glass fibre reinforced transfer tapes are easier to handle and to cut than pure transfer tapes. Scrim transfer tapes can be used to bond irregular surfaces due to the fact that they are thicker than pure transfer tapes.

Transfer tapes are available in wide variety of adhesive systems:

• Hotmelt for lower temperature applications.

• Solvent based acrylic for long term, medium and high temperature applications

• Water acrylic systems for medium temperatures

• Silicone based systems for extreme temperatures (high and low) and applications where low outgassing is required

Some transfer tapes are available for application in narrow widths (normally 12mm & 19mm) by means of an adhesive transfer tape gun (ATG). The ATG removes the release liner from the adhesive on application and makes in order to make the taped substrate ready for bonding or mounting. ATG tapes are available in different thicknesses making them suitable for both lightweight and heavier duty bonding and mounting applications.
