Inserting System Kern 2600
13.04.2012
Highlights The well-proven Kern 2600 inserting system holds an established place in the Kern product portfolio and sets the bar for capacity, modularity, flexibility, ease of operation and maintenance. The system is capable of processing up to 16,000 envelopes per hour in a wide variety of formats and applications. A trendsetting control system monitors the hardware. The latest technologies allow for flexible processing across a broad spectrum of requirements – the Kern 2600 opens far-reaching future possibilities and protects customer investments. Its ergonomic operating concept also extends to the solution modules available for integration with the system. The main console uses touch screens, which are also found in most of the other control units. The Kern 2600 on demonstration at the show is integrated with the company's innovative inkjet module. The Kern printing module dynamically prints data and logos on envelopes of varying thickness at the full speed of the inserting system – a capability that led the readership of Postmaster to vote it the winner of that trade publication's "Product of the Year 2010" award. This is a second-generation printing module, designed for the needs of today's customers and incorporating an innovative solution to maintain constant spacing between the inkjet print head and the paper surface, for optimum results with any kind of envelope. It offers full-colour printing with impressive quality at up to 600 x 600 dpi. Application A real customer's single sheet fed full-colour transpromo reprint application, featuring dynamically printed messages and logos coordinated with the envelope contents.

Inserting System Kern 3500 SilverLine
13.04.2012
Highlights The Kern 3500 SilverLine inserting system is a development progression of the successful Kern 3500. SilverLine's capacity for up to 24,000 cycles/hour with C6/5 and C5 envelopes meets the market's high expectations. The latest servomotor technology means that quiet running and stability are now better than ever. A Kern 3500 SilverLine coupled with a Kern 996 high-performance cutter makes the ideal solution for users who frequently switch between jobs and seek to minimise their change-over times. The Kern 996 high-performance cutter has capacity for up to 66,000 sheets per hour, to provide the requisite feed rate. Development of the Kern 996 focused on maximum ease of use. Thus, setting the paper intake is accomplished in just two or three easy actions. As another example, the Kern 996 automatically processes the blank sheets that often occur in full-colour digital printing and diverts them early on, at the cutter. Application A real customer's "Ocean Wireless" full-colour transpromo 2-track continuous application, with white sheets diverted between jobs.

PerformanceAnalyzer
17.04.2012
The new, cloud-based mailFactory Performance Analyzer service inside the mailFactory Manager Sphera reveals hidden production losses and increases overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). It is a modular, forward-looking business intelligence solution that assists with visualising, monitoring and analysing major key performance indicators (KPIs) in document output. Highlights: Visualisation of system utilisation and productivity (Total Effective Equipment Productivity –TEEP)Visualisation of aggregate system efficacy (Overall Equipment Effectiveness – OEE)Visualisation of operating values such as mean time to recovery –MTTRVisualisation of shift and daily production (actual/target/trend)Individual performance key figures are customisable per user on the dashboard. All the visualisations allow drilldown for more detailed analysis. In addition, Pareto charts are available to help you spot the principal cause of losses simply and quickly.
