Digital Robot 2000B line is a perfect digital print finishing solution specially innovated by JMD Machinery Corp., LD. This solution is combined by five parts:

Part one (Module 1): Signature stacker, this stacker will stack signatures which are ISG-glued cold-glued booklets coming from Ibis Smart-binder one by one into book blocks and then deliver to the mechanical hand part.

Part two(Module 2): Mechanical hand, this part with first make vertical turning for each book block, thus the book block are standing up instead of lying flat, then each book block is caught by the mechanical hand and send to the book clamp of 2000B binder.

Part three(Module 3): 2000B binder, this is a fully automatic four clamp binder, which will make milling, notching, spine and side gluing, cover feeding and nipping to each book block, and then deliver to the book stacker.

Part four( Module 4): book stacker, this stacker will stack each book pile by pile and then deliver to the three-knife trimmer.

Part Five(Module 5): Three-knife trimmer, this machine will trim the three sides of each pile of books and then output perfect finished books.

l Stardard JDF work procedure control, available for in-line use with many types of digital printing equipments

Digital Robot 2000B line realizes automatic setting for all process with the help of standard JDF, and controls the whole network’s working by making use of one central control system. Thus, it could be in-line with many types of digital printing equipments for seamless integration and improve production efficiency. It could also be used as a standalone machine for off-line book binding.

Example: Digital Robot 2000B line in-line connection with Kodak Printer and Hunkeler folder, cutter, etc. (installed at customer’s factory Phonex Group in Nanjing China)

l High automation for book format changeover to adjustment time

All related parts of function modules of Digital Robot 2000B line employs servo motors and pneumatic system to drive and control. Automatic adjustments will be done according to signals sent from the previous equipment or input by operator. Each format changeover time only needs 3 minutes to finish.

l Optional PUR binding function

The spine gluing station of Digital Robot 2000B binder is moveable. It can be pulled out to change for PUR gluing station easily. PUR gluing characterizes strong binding strength, environmental free and can cope with any extreme temperature. PUR binding will be the main trend for book binding in the future.

l Optional Modules combination that will save customer’s cost greatly

Since this perfect solution employs modularization design, customers could choose suitable function modules according to one’s demand. This can not satisfy customer’s production demand, but also save investment cost. We could also combine a special line based on 2000B line for customer’s special requirement.

l Flexible in-line layout that will save installation space maximally

All function modules of this digital binding solution use stand-alone conveyor to connect together. Layout can be made flexibly according to user’s factory space, which could save installation space maximally.
