Estimates
23.02.2012

The solution of Estimating or Offers developed by SISTRADE enables organizations to formulate Estimate or Offer in a structured way and based on parameterizations that allow responding to the customers in the shortest and in convenient period of time.

Using Sistrade® Print software customer or vendor, anywhere in the world via the Internet can enter the initial data of the estimate for subsequent calculation of the estimator. The estimate may be performed based on work already repeated or created as new work, after the registration system determines the cost price and calculates the margins. The Estimate draft can be based on a set of services set up between the organization and its customer, which contains the price of each service, called Service Pricing. Alternatively, and in a broader perspective instead of considering the services separately, they can be defined as a set of Product Pricing, which the customer confirms while the price of each product is defined a priori. MIS | ERP Sistrade® Print, while preparing an estimate, allows controlling the information provided by the customer (models, colour proofs, photos, ...) immediately calculates all costs associated with work including the general components and preparation costs, production costs, shipping and transportation costs, assessing the measures of the work format, costs of resources/machines, setup times and their needs; operations costs including subcontract stages; overall cost with cost/benefit identification; At the end financial margins are applied, with banks rates, fees, administrative costs, fixed costs, rappel, etc. Estimate or Offer is printed in the language and currency of the client and can be sent via email reducing the reply time. After the estimate calculation for the base quantity is completed, Sistrade® software allows the calculation estimating values for other quantities based on the estimate for the basis amount.

CIP4
18.04.2012

It becomes increasingly important to link machines and make information systems communicate among themselves. CIP4/JDF is a communication protocol that follows a standard based on XML which main objective is sending/receiving information between different machines and software.

Sistrade® Print JDF/CIP4 Data Collect

Allows collecting, online and in real time (if the machine is JDF-ready), production data, automatically and without human intervention, in order to control, for example, what is being produced, who is working at the machine, for how long, and other data.

Sistrade® Print JDF/CIP4 Equipment Control

Allows to give instructions to the machines (if these are JDF-ready), so that the machine begins producing a job, without any human intervention. This is possible through JMF (Job Messaging Format) which is sent to the machine through a standardized XML file and which has such information as quantities to be produced, ink quantity to be injected in the machine, imposition, and other type of instructions.

Sistrade® Print JDF/CIP4 Workflow

At a corporate level and embracing all the company’s workflow – from the customer’s request, until expedition – we can automate to the maximum, with minimum errors and data redundancy, all the information about a specific job. All this is also possible through standardized XML files which contain the required information for the process development. CONNECTIVITY is the key Word, since Customers, Company, Suppliers and Partners will be interconnected and “speaking” a common language.

SCADA & SHOP FLOOR CONTROL
23.02.2012

SCADA & SHOP FLOOR CONTROL

SISTRADE reserves one of its business areas to technology solutions implementation of data acquisition, industrial supervision, planning and production control, which are called Sistrade® SCADA & Shop Floor Control, which could also be construed as an MES (Manufacturing Execution System). SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) are software systems to monitor and supervise the data acquisition devices of various participants in the manufacturing process and may act in the field by controlling remote inputs/outputs or programmable logic controllers - PLCs. Information systems Shop Floor Control oriented, is software that allows one to plan job orders on time, monitor real-time production process according to the preset routing, to control the movement of materials and hence make a production control more efficient. Here, SCADA turns out to be a complement to the management systems and production control.

ANALYSIS, DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF INFRASTRUCTURE

In these projects SISTRADE presents complete solutions for data acquisition and process control, through the analysis phase of the factory layout and equipment to be controlled; design phase, where all the infrastructure of data communications to implement is specified, as well as the list of equipment to install; the last phase comes up to the job of installing and monitoring of the entire network confirms the survey made in the previous phase. Having a wide experience in this area, SISTRADE provides various solutions, using the latest technologies, as is the case: terminals with Ethernet interface, wireless PDTs, use of laser barcode readers, installing touch-screen consoles, last generation automata, sensing equipment, RFID, etc. In most projects, the data acquisition is based on the installation of collection points (industrial touch screen consoles + barcode reader + thermal printer) and in the installation of an automaton (PLC) to receive data directly from machines or production lines. The handling of these data is done in a collection server using Sistrade® ERP software.

PRODUCTION DATA COLLECTION VIA CONSOLE OR INDUSTRIAL PC

This system involves the placement of collection points, with the installation of industrial consoles (e.g. for groups of machines or for each machine), registered by barcode or by touch, the number of job orders, operations, incorporated materials, machine identifications, operator identifications (and other) and also the elements for quality control. The information to be recorded in this equipment is as follows:

• Release of job orders (Start / End);

• Start / end of operations (productive activities);

• Machine;

• Allocation / de-commissioning of employees to certain machines;

• Start / End of the events (unproductive activities);

• Materials to be incorporated in the machine;

• Production Records;

• Quality Control tests.

PRODUCTION DATA COLLECTION VIA INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION

To complement the data collection via console, SISTRADE recommends implementing a collection solution based on direct data acquisition through machines or PLCs. Whenever the machine or production line provides a communication port with known protocol, it is possible to configure Sistrade® ERP software to obtain and process the data that the machine delivers. If it is not possible in this way, SISTRADE recommends installing a network of sensing equipment, machinery and production lines in order to receive data via automaton and make its treatment in the database server. The proposed architecture typically involves the installation of a network master (CompoBus/D, compoNet or DeviceNet), from which a cable is extended with multiple input cards/digital outputs /analogues. Each of these cards will connect a group of machines. The cards are placed in a strategic place to minimize cable distance. In each machine a box of centralizing signals is placed, to facilitate eventual transport, movement of the machinery or modification of signals.

The information that may be obtained from this collection is as follows:

• Functional status of the machine;

• Instantaneous speed;

• Average speed;

• Produced Quantity;

• Time of adjustment and production;

• Time of downtime;

• Reasons of downtime;

• Consumed quantity (according to the produced quantity, the system can calculate the incorporated amount of raw material or semi-manufactured, for the incorporation of previously defined factors);

• Other signal that can be relevant.

SCADA – INDUSTRIAL SUPERVISION

Sistrade® software SCADA (Supervision Control and Data Acquisition) is a fully customizable tool to suit each plant layout, multi factory, supports various sections and any type of resource, either a machine, a production line or a manual resource with human support. Its main objective is graphical monitoring of the production status as well as the operating status of each resource. Through synoptic panels, each of the processes can be monitored. These panels are designed using Sistrade® Layout and then run on Sistrade® Supervision. The results can be displayed with icons and colour effect, and their representation is in agreement with the data collection on the shop floor. In terms of features we highlight:

• Local or remote supervision, multi-factory;

• Actual information of the status of the machine operation;

• Identification of employees who are working on the machine;

• Production order that is in progress;

• Display of speed per machine in real-time;

• Graphical query of speed history;

• Register of automatic stops and their reasons;

• Actual time of adjustment and production;

• Analysis of profitability;

• Occupancy rates;

• Analyzing productive vs. unproductive time;

• Efficiency per machine.

PRODUCTION PLANNING (SCHEDULING)

In order to assist the production manager in planning job orders and meeting delivery deadlines, SISTRADE offers its customers a tool capable of planning production operations. Sistrade® ERP software for production planning is a system of decision support in the planning of job orders, allowing allocation of operations resources over a given time frame. The sequencing of activities depends on the priority criteria previously set and aon the capacity of each resource. Essential features:

• Master plan of production;

• Scheduling of the JOs and/or orders;

• Visualization of job orders on GANTT chart;

• Report of charges in tabular or graphical format;

• Suggestion of the workcenter to perform the task allows, if desired, people responsible for planning to divide the work between several workcenters;

• Suggestion of an optimal sequence for work orders execution, allowing people responsible for planning to change the sequence according to what they consider as relevant.

QUALITY CONTROL

Sometimes the shop floor control requires to record tests and quality parameters. For this reason, Sistrade® software allows parameterizing a set of measurable and visual parameters for quality control during the production process. For each test it is possible to define tolerance intervals, so that when the user indicates the value, the system validates whether it is inside or outside the allowable range. Associated with this process, Sistrade® system can issue quality labels or certificates to highlight the results of the tests and the product is conformable or non-conformable. Treatment of waste is also a part of quality control. At any time and at any manufacturing stage, the user can register an inherent waste in job order. Features that we consider the most interesting:

• Configuration of quality parameters, according to the type of process;

• Definition of tolerance intervals in absolute or percent value

• User-friendly interface for quality records;

• History of quality control;

• Reclassifications;

• Quality Certificates;

• User identification, date, time in which the test was done;

• Interface optimized for touch screen and portable data terminal;

• Possibility of connection to measurement equipment.

MANAGEMENT OF RAW MATERIALS

As part of the monitoring system and SISTRADE production steering, comes the management of raw materials with the definition of product trees, formulation, manual and automatic consumption conform factors for incorporation. The system has interfaces that allow the "shop floor" to define the formulation of a given production process. Through the selection of raw materials, lots and incorporation factors, it is possible to change in the collection interface, the standard formulation that is defined in the job order. The output of stock or raw materials or semi manufactured, may be made by manual registration, reading the bar code of the lot and introducing quantity or by automatic output to the quantities produced. Whenever there is a production record, the system may terminate the stock of raw materials in the amount proportional to the factor of incorporation. Relevant features of this process:

• Multi-level definition of product trees;

• Manual consumption with reading of bar code;

• Automatic consumption based on the quantities produced;

• Pre-confirmation of the outputs of stock;

• Definition of the formulation with the beginning of the JO;

• Instantaneous consumption per machine and per shift;

• Various alerts for placement of raw materials per JO and per machinery.

PRODUCTIONS RECORD

The registration of products in SISTRADE shop floor control system can be done by the operator in collection console or automatically by order of the PLC (automaton) that sensitizes the machinery. In practical terms, if we have a sensor, a photocell or any other signal that the machine makes available that could be perceived as a signal that something was produced, SISTRADE interprets this signal and causes the production record in the database according to the elements that were registered in the console, including the job order, and operations and employee who are working on the machine. Sistrade® ERP software also allows connection to measuring equipment for measuring the recorded values, for example, the output of a machine or section may be placed on a balance for the system to record automatically the actual weight of product produced. In terms of identification, SISTRADE provides labels that can be bar coded or RFID for raw materials, semi-manufactured and finished products. It is also possible to define labels to track pallets or sets of boxes. Relevant features of this process:

• Registration of produced quantities in the industrial console;

• Registration produced quantities via industrial automation;

• Calculation of production using a function of production time or speed;

• Connecting equipment weighing to determine actual weights;

• Productions in two measuring units (e.g. meters and kilograms);

• Traceability of the production process.

SISTRADE SCHEDULING
18.04.2012

SCHEDULING
The programming of work has to be done, for products or projects to meet the criteria of logical sequencing and criteria related to good sense of the one who plans, for that reason it is essential that the task of planning is done with the help of a support system for decisions in production planning and not an automated tool for planning.
For these reasons, the tool developed by SISTRADE has a large participation and interactivity with the people responsible for planning. This solution enables scheduling the company's activities on time and allocating to each of the available resources/machines according to a set of priority criteria, as well as assigning the employees who will participate in the production of a given operation. It is a tool based on Gantt chart, where one of the axes represents the resources and the other represents the time horizon. This is a dynamic and interactive system, allowing the manager to anticipate production alterations and this way to send alerts to the real-time production.

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

  • Assisted production simulation;
  • Operation or activities planning in Gantt Chart;
  • Operations sequencing in a tabular format;
  • Assisted Scheduling of employees;
  • Matrix-based scheduling of operations/employees;
  • Real-time indexing of the beginning and end of production;
  • Load analysis and resource/machine availability;
  • View in Gantt Charts;
  • Operation status identification through colours;
  • Multi-user planning.

SCHEDULING – PLANNING OF ACTIVITIES

The scheduling module is the module responsible for the scheduling of job orders in Gantt chart through the algorithm of capability planning. Using the Gantt chart enables the real scheduling or simulation of production planning.

This module allows the user a graphic view of the production status online. In addition, it is also possible to update the information of job orders in an easy and intuitive way. To do this, it is necessary to select each job order and drag it to the new desired location and record the results. This feature is called Drag and Drop, allowing the user to simulate the planning horizontally and vertically on the actual Gantt.
In Job Orders with various components (cover, book-block, insert) it is possible to define the operation where the different components are joined as subsequent planned operations after the operations of each component are finalized. This configuration was called “Dependency between the components”, it is configurable in each Job Order. When the Job Order is planned, the scheduling algorithm incorporates this restriction, ensuring the correct sequence of an operation routing to be performed.
For the companies where the internal scheduling task is carried out by a team of individuals, the scheduling is provided with multi-user functionality, thereby allowing the production planning to be made by more than one user, so the system controls the time at which each user is making the recalculation of scheduling, preventing the other users from making the scheduling changes. The control of multi-user is extended to include the features “Job Orders for Planning” and “Remove Job Orders from Scheduling”.The control, whenever it detects the changes made by a user, shows the other users the informational messages in order to refresh the screen to see the last version.
It is worth mentioning other planning features such as: :: Set operations at a particular time, time/date, in order to answer questions such as the customer is going to approve the work at a specific time; :: The idle time of material before starting the next process, to ensure for example, drying times; :: Forecast of the reception of material for the JO for the printing resources, making the system analyse the forecasts of material receipts (minimum date) for the Job Order; :: Recalculation of the scheduling from the particular date and so that it does not affect days/job orders that have already been set by the user.
In situations where Gantt is overloaded with several jobs and it is complicated to make Drag and Drop of various operations, the user is provided with the tabular scheduling assistant, making it possible to reorder the sequence of operations for each resource/machine through the selection list. This feature can be used detailed by signature or a higher than the component level, as the user will make the adjustments to the components sequence, ensuring the system the sequence of signatures that is clear for the user.

Sistrade® Print, without stopping or changing the planning, can estimate the beginning and end date to produce a job order out of planning. The dates obtained are purely informative since this feature is not reflected in production. Sistrade® PRINT also allows sending a load chart, showing for each machine and delivery times, capacity, volume of orders and availability.

Each bar is an operation of a particular job order, the background colour is the status of that job order. For example, it is red because it does not meet the deadline, it is green because it is produced, grey means being within the agreed deadline, the blue spot indicates the time taking longer to produce. To summarize, visually and graphically, production managers have a clear understanding of the position of each job and this way make decisions in accordance with feedback of this tool.

SCHEDULING – PLANNING OF EMPLOYEES

The planning of employees is the second perspective allowing the user to inter-cross the scheduled job order operations with the employees.
This feature allows the user to define visually the different teams of employees who will be involved in the execution of a particular job order operation in an easy and intuitive way. To do this, simply double-click on the intersection between Employee and Job Order/Operation, to assign the employee to the operation automatically. After matrix-based scheduling of the employees with the operation, it is possible to define the quantity to produce and the specific comments for the employees/operation.

It is also possible to define comments by day and by employee in order to indicate some information, for example, some last minute details provided by the customer.

SCHEDULING – DYNAMIC PLANNING

This is a dynamic not static programming tool, as it is successively being upgraded with the beginning and end of production recorded in shop floor control. These inputs may even come from a wireless terminal or a PDA with an internet connection.

This dynamic interconnection with the collection is supported in the definitions of the alternative resources by operation, thus ensuring that the situations in which control of production does not follow the sequence and planning-defined machines, the planning is responsible for the dynamic correspondence between planning and production.
