NEW ‘cX’ range of anti-static solutions
30.03.2012
cX’ range of anti-static solutions Developed over the past decade we are excited to launch our new range of Anti-static equipment to provide fully-effective ways of eliminating the anti static difficulties associated with electrostatic charges. A range of standard power sources are available with connections for up to four ionising bars. Our cX and cX-A ionising bars are the workhorses. All are capacititively decoupled to make them completely shockless – there are four layers of insulation between the HT cable and the ionising pins. As with all our ionising bars, they are manufactured using a unique modular design to give maximum flexibility in the sizes offered – which range from 100mm all the way up to 10m. cX ionising bars have longer, specially trimmed pins than those from other manufacturers, giving them an exceptionally long service life. cX+ and cXweb, bi-phase high-performance ionising bars These extra high-performance bars have two rows of ionising pins within a skeletal supporting earth plane. The frame makes them ideal for situations where there is a great deal of production debris, which would settle on exposed surfaces and affect performance. These ionising bars are effective at up to 600mm from a surface, and in the case of the cXweb can be used on webs running at over 1000 metres a minute and is now available with air-assist.

cXc Web cleaner/vacuum bar
30.03.2012
Launching for Drupa 2012 ... A bolt out of the blue The NEW cXc web cleaner/vacuum bar was developed to provide a cost-effective way of cleaning debris from a static-charged surface. The bars are supplied in single-unit modules, making installation simpler and more versatile than fixed systems. Bars can be installed independently to clean one side of the material or juxtaposed to clean both. They can be offset or staggered to cover wide webs, and can be set in any position. They are effective for cleaning a wide variety of debris, from the finest powder to heavy paper swarf. The combined action of the air manifold and the vacuum minimises the amount of air needed to carry out effective cleaning.

Grafix Infrared drying
15.02.2012
Infrared and hot air are two classical methods for drying which are used quite often in combination. Both systems are also available separately from Grafix.
Infrared dryers Infrared dryers from Grafix prove themselves by economical continuous operation and a long operating life. Among other reasons, the double-quartz radiators with a power of 60 W/cm are responsible for that benefit. Thanks to their gold reflectors on the back, they achieve a radiation yield of 95 %. The drying process can be further optimised by the continuously adjustable control system. Furthermore flanking air nozzles assist the oxidative drying of the ink, cool the IR radiators down and protect them against accumulation of dirt.
Hot-air dryers/combined IR hot-air dryers For drying glossy or protective varnishes, hot-air dryers from Grafix are the first choice. They take their large power efficiency from the high effectiveness of the compact hot-air cartridges (1.5 kW or 4 kW power) as well as from the heat that is generated in the module without any transport losses. Printing presses achieve special flexibility with Grafix combined dryers. They allow simultaneous printing and/or drying of conventional inks and varnishes or even fast changeover between different printing methods without the need of changing the dryers. During this process, the IR radiators which are up to 700 °C hot are additionally cooled down by hot air which has a temperature of "only" 200 °C

Grafix UV systems
15.02.2012
The new Grafix Hi-Cure UV generation stands for extra efficiency. You not only save around a third in energy, with a corresponding increase in output, but you impress your customers with extremely fast on-off switching cycles from 20 seconds (restart) to a maximum of 2 minutes (full load), rays focussing which saves machine wear, and many other minor details which simplify handling and maintenance.
Ultra-fast lamp start The latest electronic ballast technology enables the standby power to be stepped down to 25% of the lamp power. The short UV lamp restart time from 20 seconds to a maximum of 2 minutes under full load minimises the down times during cleaning cycles. A tried and tested wash&produce control system is available for a number of printing machines.
Double varnishing machines The double application of varnish, first with primer, then with UV varnish, provides special upgrading of varnishes such as Iriodin, Metalur as well as varnishes with matt and glossy finishes. This machine uses cost-saving conventional inks. The ink management remains unchanged; UV preparation of the machine preceding the varnishing unit is not necessary.

The world's most compact, high powdered humidifiers
16.02.2012
Non wetting - Dry Fog humidification.
High Pressure Systems We can offer this type of humidification for larger pressrooms with a reasonably high roof space(8 metres and above). The system requires no compressed air to vaporise the water, depending instead on a considerably high water pressure (80-100 bar) forcing the water through microbore nozzles to create the aerosol water vapour. The pressure is generated from a high pressure pump which is activated from a controller taking a signal from one or more hygrostats set to required RH level.
Low Pressure Systems This is more appropriate for small to medium press room requirements. It is more versatile in that less space is required to enable the water vapour to dissipate. The water is fed up to the small reservoir in the vaporisation head (normally at mains pressure of 3 bar) and from here the compressed air in the unique nozzle arrangement creates a vortex and vaporises the water at the point when air and water meet. The result is an extremely fine aerosol and dissipation is remarkably quick. This lends itself to applications where “spot” humidification can be applied to troublesome areas rather that humidifying the whole pressroom e.g. feeder / delivery of the press or troublesome folding equipment in the finishing area.

Grafix powder extraction
15.02.2012
On all Grafix powder spraying systems the powder is applied as sparsely and exactly as possible. However, an extraction system is indispensable, because every sheet that is delivered also leaves some powder in the printing press. The extraction system takes the powder off exactly at the right place.
