The instrument is quick and easy to use. Just move the small 5 x 5 mm pressure sensitive square on the sensor blade’s top through the nip - and you will directly see the pressure load in Newton/cm2.

How does the instrument work?

The instrument measures and registers thousands of times as the pressure sensitive area moves through the nip. In the display you will see the peak pressure value.

The use of sophisticated nano-technology makes the measuring speed exceptional. The instrument measures 4.500 times when moving through a 10 mm nip. This is one of the reasons why measurements are very exact with a repeatability of +/- 15 N/cm2.

So, have a problem detection instrument at hand before a problem occurs!

The ROLLER NIP INDICATOR™ consists of a small, handy and easy to use instrument. The blade can easily be exchanged by simply pressing a button and pulling the blade out.

The instrument can be used by a single pressman, which facilitates quick problem detection. It is also possible to use in dark areas with its bright LED display.

It is easy to use the Roller Nip Indicator. The top of the sensor blade is inched into the nip and positioned between the rollers. A reading in millimeters or inches is shown. The pressman then easily can adjust the nip width to the level he desires. This can be done with or without ink on the rollers.

When adjusting roller nips, the most common mistake is to apply too much pressure. This occurs often when the rollers are old and the rubber hard. To achieve the desired ink stripe, pressure is increased to give the targeted measurement in millimeters. However, this will result in an incorrect nip pressure level.

Using Nip Control’s Roller Nip Indicator you will have correct roller settings no matter if your rollers are old or new, as well as independent of press operator. And, you will have a measurement value which can be communicated and discussed. The basis of quality control!
