Atlas was established in 1976 as a manufacturer of slitter rewinders for the plastic film industry. The company went from strength to strength and has built a reputation as the world leader in slitting and rewinding technology.

Atlas has built the world's widest film slitters at 10 metres and fastest at 1'500 m/min.  The company has also installed more than 250 film slitters worldwide exceeding 6 metres in width. There are also more 2 metre wide Atlas slitter rewinders in the labelstock industry world-wide than any other manufacturer.

The company operates from modern production facilities in Bedford, England.
