Dragon Foils is a vibrant member of the Ruian Group, which was founded in 1999, as a manufacturer of speciality chemicals, some under licence from Western principals, some developed in-house. Under the leadership of its President, Mr. Lu You Jiao, Ruian has become the leader in its field in China. The Chief Executive of Dragon Foils is Mr. Raymond Lu, who has over fifteen years’ experience in the hot stamping foil industry. He has worked in the industry in China and the USA, and been involved with all aspects of the business, from research, through production to sales & marketing. Other members of the management team have similar skills and experience, and the Company has an association with some Universities as technical resource.

The business began by subcontracting the coating of its foils to local company-PPF Industries, while always keeping a close eye on quality, with the latest coating, embossing, reeling and slitting equipment, all at least 1,280mm wide(50”). The equipment has been sourced in Japan, Europe and China, in order to ensure that all the latest features have been incorporated. A particular source of pride is the quality control function, which incorporates a wide variety of printing machinery, in order to ensure that a customer’s running conditions can always be matched. Raw materials, including PET film, are bought locally, and from Japan and Korea and USA, as appropriate. The operation, which runs 24 hours, is housed in anew, purpose-built facility in the high-tech development area of the city of Foshan in Guangdong Province. Foshan is a city of some four million people, and can be reached from Guangzhou international airport in one hour by car, or from Hong Kong in three hours by hydrofoil or train.
