Graymills - A Tradition of Quality and Commitment

Why Graymills?
Quality is a must-have in this market. These days, competitive pressures in the printing industry mean that having a press shut down because of problems in the inking system is simply unthinkable. That is why we design every one of our ink pumps from the ground up to run continuously in the printing industry.
Graymills has a long history of building quality ink pumps going back to the first days of Flexography. In fact, we have customers still running pumps that are over 30 years old! Our reputation comes from the quality of our product, and we work every day to keep that name.
For over 60 years, Graymills has worked with Flexographic printers, press builders, and converters to develop innovative, reliable ink pumps (centrifugal, peristaltic, and diaphragm), ink filters/magnets, and circulation/conditioning systems.

We are where you are. Graymills offers an extensive international network of sales representatives expert at recommending and applying Graymills ink delivery systems.

As a family-owned and -operated business, Graymills can respond quickly to your needs. There is no corporate red tape or bureaucratic runarounds, and the top managers are always available for consultation.

Innovative Product Design and Development:
Graymills recognizes that needs vary from narrow-web label systems to corrugated presses to wide-web presses and has designed ink delivery systems to meet this wide range of applications. From pumps to tanks to filters to pressroom optimization, Graymills has modular solutions designed to meet your specific needs.

We put quite a lot of thought into the design of our products. Our pumps aren't designed to minimize manufacturing costs. They are designed by an aerospace engineer to maximize performance and efficiency. Our “market knowledge meets technological expertise” design philosophy, shows in our creed of quality over speed. When you compare our pumps to the competition - flowing organic shapes compared to sharp bends and crude design, this does more than make our pumps look nice. It makes them work better. That is not what you would get from a typical pump vendor.

And we will not skimp on your products. From motors to castings, we are constantly looking for the best option. That is why we provide Teflon® coating on our filters and pump castings. Nylon would be cheaper, but we know from experience that it will not hold up to the rigors of the pressroom.

Our peristaltic pumps were designed from the ground up to work in the printing industry. Rather than copy typical chemical pumps, as our competition did, we created a patented head shape that allows the pump to sit over the ink tank while minimizing tube kinks. And rather than sit back, our engineers invented the award-winning “quick-change” peristaltic heads, allowing operators to swap out heads in a matter of seconds, minimizing press turnaround time.

Quick Press Turnarounds:
Modern presses are too expensive to sit idle for longer than necessary for cleaning and turnaround. Graymills understands this and has an entire line of products designed to help. From our Quick-Change peristaltic pump heads to our QD/QC centrifugal pumps with quick demountable motors, we will help you get your press up and running as fast as possible.

Just-In-Time Manufacturing:
No one likes to hold excess inventory. That is why Graymills was designed from the ground up around the philosophy of "mass customization." Our machines and systems can efficiently produce down to a batch size of 1. And we can get product out fast - many times on the day the order comes in, if need be. That is the benefit of doing most of the work in-house, as opposed to contracting it out to the cheapest vendor.
