Founded in 1987, Formax is a privately held company with corporate headquarters based in Dover, New Hampshire and manufacturing facility located in Turlock, California. The company was originally established in 1987 to specialize in the direct sales and service of paper processing equipment throughout the New England area. This simple beginning still plays a critical role today in providing first-hand sales and service knowledge to our engineering group for both product refinement and new product development.
In 1993, the Formax brand was first introduced and offered through resellers nationwide. The original products introduced included industrial bursters, decollators and mergers for processing continuous-feed business forms. In the following years, the company introduced a tabletop inserter range as well as other complementary products focused on laser printer generated cut-sheet applications.
In 1996 the company designed and introduced the first AutoSeal® pressure sealer for processing pressure sensitive one-piece mailers. The AutoSeal product line utilized patented Formax technology to deliver a post-printing solution far superior to older technologies using heat, water or live-glue. Today, the AutoSeal product line includes nine desktop and six industrial models to meet the needs of low-volume office use to higher volume production applications.
In 2003 Formax acquired the forms handling division of Tab Products in Turlock, California. The acquisition provided direct control of product development, manufacturing of key product lines, while providing the foundation for future innovation and quality control.
In 2006 Formax introduced a complete range of commercial-grade shredders designed specifically for businesses and government use. The Formax range of data destruction equipment includes over twenty models providing solutions for deskside, office, industrial as well as NSA approved high security requirements. Trademark features of Formax shredders include all metal cabinets and gearing, heavy-duty AC geared motors and LED load indicators.
In 2010, Formax introduced the newly designed FD 342, FD 382 and FD 38X paper folders now commonly seen in departments, schools and churches throughout the world. These folders introduced new patented features such as a dedicated stapled-set feeder for folding multiple pieces of paper at once, as well as a telescoping conveyor capable of holding high volumes of finished pieces.
Moving forward Formax is commited to delivering the highest standards of quality, value-added products and solutions to your organization. Our goal is to improve mail efficiencies, deliver innovative digital print finishing solutions and ensure your organization's security through our extensive range of commercial-grade shredding systems.
